May exceed 11 miles per day
Trail Conditions:
Predominantly off-trail, unpaved, extremely uneven, unmaintained, very steep with loose surface, very narrow in sections, 1–2 feet wide when trail present, frequent route-finding, may involve precautionary belays and rock climbing
Suggested Prior Experience:
Superior physical fitness, comparable Grand Canyon backpacking, comfortable with rock scrambling

Previous Field Institute Wilderness Studies Workshop attendance and climbing course required for levels 7–10
