Grand Canyon’s Trail of Time: The Insider’s Scoop with Professors Karl Karlstrom and Laurie Crossey
The latest rock ages, unveiling of "The Grand Canyon Trail of Time Companion", using the ToT effectively, and all the ‘cool’ insights only the creators can provide.

Meet: 8 a.m. at Yavapai Geology Museum. Ends at Verkamps Visitor Center.
How to get there: Kaibab Rim Route/Orange Shuttle Bus to Yavapai Geology Museum.
What you need to bring: hiking clothing & gear for the forecast conditions, snack, and water.

Option 2
Bringing the Trail Alive: South Kaibab to Trail to Cedar Ridge
Looking to spice-up your hikes on the Kaibab? Never seen the sponge fossils? Passed the Coconino cross-beds by? Oblivious to the reptile trackways? Join an Interpreter during a stop-filled interpretive training hike to Cedar Ridge.

Meet: 8 a.m. at South Kaibab Trailhead
How to get there: Orange/Kaibab Route Shuttle Bus from Grand Canyon Visitor Center, or Hiker Express Shuttle from the Backcountry Information Office.
What you need to bring: hiking clothing & gear for the forecast conditions, snack, and water.

AFTERNOON

1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Hike to Santa Maria Springs with an LNT Trainers’ special on the trail.
The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, Erin Collier & Brice Esplin, will lead this fun and illuminating "social/mixing/get to know your fellow guides" hike on the Hermit Trail. 4.4 miles round-trip.

Meet: 1 p.m. at Hermit Trailhead
How to get there: drive the Hermit Road from GC Village; approx. 20 mins.
What you need to bring: hiking clothing & gear for the forecast conditions, snack, and water.
