Grand Canyon Conservancy is proud to recognize APS as a generous partner of our first fundraising campaign, A Grand Vision, providing support for Grand Canyon National Park throughout the centennial. As a corporate partner of more than 10 years, APS has also generously supported the Canyon Field School (a collaborative youth education program between the National Park Service and Grand Canyon Conservancy), been a presenting sponsor for our annual Celebration of Art, and provided fundraising support for Desert View Inter-tribal Cultural Heritage site. Bank of America’s $100,000 grant focused on conservation efforts, tribal employment, and educational and cultural opportunities throughout the park. The funds supported the restoration of historic trails, workforce training programs for American Indian teens living on adjacent tribal lands, and transforming the Desert View area into an Inter-tribal Cultural Heritage Site. The grant also assisted with the transition throughout the park to dark-sky certified lights and lighting fixtures, helping Grand Cayon get certified as an International Dark Sky Park.

In celebration of Grand Canyon National Park's anniversary in 2019, Teva donated $100,000 to Grand Canyon Conservancy and also created a special collection paying homage to this magical place. With their $100,000 donation, Teva supported trail restoration along the Bright Angel Trail and funded Canyon Field School scholarships for underserved youth. With a $50,000 sponsorship, Arizona Lottery allowed Grand Canyon Conservancy to produce the video series “Grand Canyon Moments,” focused on bringing the canyon to people who are at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. This educational series covers topics like trails, wildlife, the Colorado River, Desert View Watchtower, dark skies, and much more.

American Express funded a grant to support the new Desert View Inter-tribal Cultural Heritage Site. This grant specifically supports renovations to the historic old bookstore to create a Tribal Welcome Center, creating a “home” for tribes and programs. The Center will include a public space where visitors can view interpretive exhibits and learn about tribal tourism opportunities.
