Group Outdoor Camps

Due to restrictions in park operations and recommendations regarding limiting public events and gatherings surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, GCC will be suspending Canyon Field School courses until further notice.

Watch the Sun Set Over the Canyon

Experience Grand Canyon. Viewed by millions, explored by many and understood by few.

We invite teachers to bring their students to the majestic Grand Canyon for a multi-day, outdoor educational experience with a blended team educators from the National Park Service and the Grand Canyon Conservancy.

While attending this residential youth camp, students will have the opportunity to hike along the rim of this massive geologic wonder, learn about the cultures past and present that call it home, sleep under the cover of a world-renowned night sky (awash with bright stars) and become immersed in the natural wonder of the iconic Grand Canyon.

In the evenings, students will participate in their camp experience to include evening campfire activities, sharing meals, hiking and sleeping in bunks on platformed canvas tents.

Aligned with national learning standards, this educational camp engages students in a variety of field activities in Grand Canyon National Park. Activities designed around nature appreciation, exploration of ancient fossils, histories of Native people and the fundamental resources that led to the preservation this world wonder will educate students while challenging themselves physically and growing personal values around public lands.

Our experienced program leaders incorporate inquiry-based teaching methods to encourage independent discovery and personal connections to share in their own communities.

This 3 day/2 night overnight exploration is available for grades 4-12. Register online or by telephone. Individual and group scholarships are available.

All Canyon Field School camps and day programs have been suspended until the end of 2020.
