It’s easy to give by mail to Grand Canyon Conservancy via check, money order, or a written in credit card donation. Please click here for instructions on making your paper gift.

Wire Transfers

You can send funds directly to Grand Canyon Conservancy through your bank account via an electronic wire transfer or ACH transaction. Please contact us at philanthropy@grandcanyon.org to make your gift.

Gifts of Stock

Making a gift of stock is simple and offers a number of financial benefits. You receive an immediate income-tax donation for the fair market value of the stock on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them. You pay no capital gains tax on the stock you donate to Grand Canyon Conservancy. Please contact us at philanthropy@grandcanyon.org to make a gift of stock.

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A DAF is like a charitable investment account where your contribution can be invested and grow tax-free. DAFs allow you to give cash, stock, and other assets in return for an immediate tax deduction. If you have already established a donor advised fund, you can easily recommend to the sponsoring organization to make a distribution to GCC.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

Gifts from your Individual Retirement Account can be made if you are over 70 ½ years old. You can make a QCD, or charitable rollover, for up to $100,000 or $200,000 for married couples. Qualified Charitable Distributions can help reduce income taxes as the money is sent directly to GCC without going to you first. This can lower your adjusted gross income, effectively reducing income taxes.

Real Estate

Real Estate is another way to make a wonderful gift to GCC. You can gift a primary residence, vacation property, or even a commercial property. There are several ways to go about this:

You can make an outright gift of almost any property (restrictions and approvals apply) to GCC. This can provide you with a significant tax deduction in the first year. If the property exceeds your AGI, you can carry the deduction for up to an additional 5-year period.
Do you want to give GCC your house after you pass away? You can gift it now and retain the right to live there for the remainder of your life and get an immediate tax deduction. Also, this method is good for lowering your taxable estate.
Want to leave heirs the value of the real estate, but know they won’t want to hold on to it? You can make a gift of a portion of the real estate property, which will then be split by the heirs and GCC upon death.

Grand Canyon Conservancy is grateful to the many donors who have established endowment funds or donated to endowed funds that benefit specific programs within the parks. Learn more about endowment opportunities.

Gifts of 'Things'

Do you have an item that relates to the history of the Grand Canyon; an item of valuable art that might be displayed to the public? GCC can sometimes accept gifts of tangible property that we can display or use for educational purposes, or even sell for the value of the item.

Trusts

Charitable Trusts are another method for making gifts to GCC. There are various types of charitable trusts (Remainder trusts, Lead trusts, etc.) that are useful depending on your personal financial situation and needs. As they can be complicated, we recommend consulting with an attorney or financial adviser for more information on trusts and/or to act as trustee. If you already have a charitable trust, you may be able to change the ultimate beneficiary of that trust.
