Join Environmental Educator in Residence Sidney Rainey for an introduction to the diverse ecosystems of the South Rim. Through guided observation and discussion, participants will explore how these interconnected landscapes differ, identify key plants and features, and compare the unique characteristics that shape each ecosystem.

Sidney Rainey

Sidney Rainey is an environmental educator and conservationist with a passion for building climate resiliency in young people. He works to develop programming that empowers participants to dream up big ideas for a better climate future. Prior to his concentration in environmental education, Sidney served as a leadership and organization development consultant providing strategic planning and executive coaching to organizations including the EPA and the US Forest Service. While in residence, Sidney will facilitate interactive programs that explore the variety of ecosystems in the canyon, the threats endangered species currently face and the current state of water in Grand Canyon.
