Gratitude and Healing in the Fall Night Sky
Join Dr. Aomawa Shields, Grand Canyon Astronomer-in-Residence and Professor of Astronomy at UC Irvine, for an overview of selected constellations to enjoy this Thanksgiving, and an exploration of the healing nature of dark skies. Participants will take home a glow-in-the-dark memento to commemorate their experience and encourage continued inspiration.

Dr. Aomawa Shields
Dr. Aomawa Shields is the Clare Boothe Luce Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and writer. During her residency, Aomawa will be working on her book entitled, “An Overachievers Guide to Joy: Learning to Love a Slower, Softer Life.” She will also present public and community programs focused on the healing qualities of dark skies and our connections to the universe.
