Mountain lions are primarily nocturnal and crepuscular, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk. These big cats are masters of stealth, moving almost like ghosts through the landscape. They are the Canyon’s apex predator a solitary animal that prefer the cooler, forested rims of the Grand Canyon where prey is plentiful and the terrain is ideal for stalking.
