Kolb studio, historic home of pioneer photographer, Emery Kolb, in the Historic District on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
1 hour

Kolb Studio

Most visitors walk past Kolb Studio without ever knowing what happened inside. This 1-hour guided tour takes you behind the doors, bringing to life the rooms, artifacts, and history of two brothers whose story is as grand as the canyon itself.

Village Tour Rim Walk

Learn the canyon’s story from expert instructors on a guided journey along Hermit Road, a scenic route with limited public vehicle access. Rather than covering the distance on foot, you’ll ride in comfort from overlook to overlook, stopping at the rim’s best viewpoints and stepping out to stretch your legs on short stretches of the Rim Trail whenever you like. From ancient rock layers and the powerful forces that shaped them into tales of John Wesley Powell’s early river expeditions and the history of Orphan Mine, this journey brings Grand Canyon geology and history to life.

Meet the Canyon

Hike Bright Angel Trail with an experienced guide, beginning with a brief introduction and safety talk. How far you descend will depend on the group’s hiking ability, interests, and current weather conditions. Bring your own lunch, or we’ll provide one, and enjoy a picnic with one of the most spectacular views anywhere. Back on the rim, your instructor will lead you through a collection of historic buildings, each with a remarkable story to tell.

Canyon Quest

Embark on an adventure down the South Kaibab Trail, known for its sweeping views, ancient fossils, and remarkable plant and animal life. Experience the canyon from a whole new perspective as you hike below the rim, where every step reveals deeper layers of geologic time and ever-changing scenery.

As the sun is rising, it illuminates summer monsoon clouds with brilliant orange light which reflects downward onto the cliffs, peaks and rock formations within a vast mile deep canyon.
3-4 hours

Sunset & Sunrise

Watch Grand Canyon come alive as the light changes on a guided sunrise or sunset tour. Choose your adventure: hike below the rim on the South Kaibab Trail to Ooh Aah Point, where you’ll stand amid the canyon’s towering walls as they shift from soft pinks and golds to deep reds and purples. Or skip the climb and ride to a classic overlook like Powell Point, where you can relax on level ground and take in sweeping panoramic views as the colors unfold. Your guide will share stories of the canyon’s ancient rock layers and the explorers who charted them.
